Throughout the year, there have been many illegal gambling operations that have been discovered and stopped in Malaysia’s Sabah Province by Malaysian police. In fact, an estimated 574 gambling machines and computers were seized by police from as many as 63 separate locations.
The Chief of District police said that law enforcement had to arrest 67 individuals during their investigations into these illegal gambling cases. In addition, he also said that nine different premises where illegal gambling was being conducted were simultaneously raided by 51 police officers at night and over 200 computers and gambling machines were seized.
The police force spokesperson also said that the police involved in the raids observed that the lights were on and the gaming machines still functioning, leaving the impression that the owners of the illegal gambling operation had run away not too long before the raid took place.
